Let’s take a vote…

How do you like your books?

Hardcover or paperback?

This is purely out of my own curiosity, and my vote goes for hardcover! To me, a book has to be sturdy and strong, although it makes the book much bigger and heavier then it would be as a paperback.  What’s your opinion?

I prefer my books to be paperback if they are just going to be quick reads and I plan on never reading them again, but if a book is a classic such as my favorite “Gone with the Wind’ its got to be hardcover.

Ideally hardcover but because I have to manage my money, I’ve been buying e-books and only reading physical books when someone buys them for me.

  3. I like hardcover. I have them all through out the house and its like being surrounded by old friends

A definite yes! 😀 Seriously – some have to be paperback, especially sci fi, but others I prefer to be hardcover, like non-fiction or greats like The Lord of the Rings. Only problem is getting good quality hardcovers – so many break and fall apart 😦

Paperback all the way! (If only because they fit easier onto my bookshelves)

  6. I love books in general…but if I have to give a preference… definitely hardcover. Those are my babies. btw …. Nice to meet you.

  7. For a long time I preferred paperback, simply because it is easy to hold, to fold over, and light enough to take with me. But as I have gotten more attached to my books, and become prone to reading them over and over again I tend to go for the more durable version. Plus I love the aesthetic of a hard-bound book. 🙂

I love paperbacks because they’re lighter, which is easier to carry around in my already heavy purse. I have a kindle though, and I love that I can throw that in my purse and have access to even more books at once!

Hardcover if it’s a book I plan to read again and again. They last longer. If only being read once or twice then paperback. 🙂

Paperbacks or Kindle books as I like to carry around my reading material. Hardcovers are nice, but I only get them second hand as I just can’t afford hardcovers when they first come out.

I generally prefer paperbacks because I don’t feel as restricted by location. However, I’m often too impatient to wait for releases in paperbacks, so all of my favorite authors are sitting on my shelf in hardcover 😉

I like both, love the smell of a book. But the special stories I have fallen in love with I like to keep them in Hardcover!
